FRIDAY
8pm: sean lennon’s the ghost of a sabre tooth tiger and julianna barwick play littlefield, $16

9pm (thru 10/2): the ninth annual new york burlesque festival (featuring 100+ performers at six venues) continues with a premiere party at brooklyn bowl. $10. SATURDAY
11am-6pm:
the annual chile pepper fiesta! spicy food creations, samples, matt timm’s brooklyn chile chocolate takedown, and eight hot bands incl. lost bayou ramblers with violent femmes’ gordon gano, the defibulators, terry dame + junkyard gamalan. brooklyn botanic garden, $15 (includes admission to garden).

1pm: in response to recent park slope attacks, crossfit 718 offers free women’s self-defense classes. 712 5th ave @ 22nd st, brooklyn.

2-7pm (rescheduled from 9/23): over 20 writers and comic artists show their work at the third instalment of pete’s mini zine fest. pete’s candy store, free.

6pm-1am: bring to light: nuit blanche, an all-night public art event that takes place simultaneously worldwide, features site-specific installations of light, sound, performance and projections that fill the streets, parks and industrial waterfront of greenpoint. free.

: the massive annual atlantic antic street fest (it’s in its 37th year!) features vendors, music, food and more along atlantic ave from hicks street to fourth ave
