At the top of yesterday’s Etsy email blast of “kid-friendly” vintage finds: an electric, metal-bladed fan from a time long ago, when moms and dads must not have expected their children to reach adulthood with a full set of fingers. We’re no parenting experts here, but there’s probably a pretty good reason (or 10) why you can’t get fans with grates this big anymore. If you do insist on foisting your retro-chic sensibility on the small set (even though they all really do prefer Target crap instead) here’s a link to a decent primer on how to buy antique stuff on Etsy and elsewhere without maiming your kid.
