Exhibition of 50 of Andy Warhol’s late paintings includes artwork from his Last Supper series and his collaborations with Basquiat. Plus, curator Joseph Ketner lecture/q+a Sat 2pm. Brooklyn Museum, $10.

SATURDAY
2, 6pm:
King Lou Reed and Queen Laurie Anderson join the procession down Coney’s Surf Ave for the 27th Annual Mermaid Parade (free). turtleAquatic animals are the theme for two of this weekend’s offerings (sort of). The New York Aquarium (Surf Ave. at West 8th St.) is having its weekly Donation Friday, when admission is, yes, by donation from 3 p.m. to closing. Or for some Aquatically-themed education of a very different nature (several natures, actually), try out NERD NITE, Friday night at 8:30 at Galapagos Art Space (16 Main St.), where you can take in presentations on Godzilla, Korean pop music and the harp. Brokelyn-approved weekend events: art prowls, craft fair, r-word survival

picture-115If it’s spring in Brooklyn, there must be an open-studio event somewhere. This weekend there are two: an art crawl in Bushwick, where you’ll see the likes of this elegantly twisted painting from Hannah Mishin (That girl’s on a mission!) along with work presented by 249 other galleries and artists. Open studios are tomorrow and Sunday from noon to 7. Get more info and a downloadable map here. Then there’s the Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk, with loads of artists and deals at 35 area restaurants.
