5pm: eminent domain victim freddy’s reopens in park slope with an opening night party featuring les sans culottes, brute force and the magpie

8pm: learn about the secret history of the ouiji board with occult america’s mitch horowitz. observatory, $5.

SATURDAY
11am-4pm
: the winter jam festival provides fresh snow (more snow… hah!) so new yorkers can enjoy skiing, snowshoeing and other winter activities. free lessons! prospect park’s nethermead, free.

4pm: the league of amateur competitve eaters first annual burger bowl: four competitors attempt to set the record for the most sliders eaten in five minutes. burger bistro (bay ridge), free.

5-11pm: brooklyn museum’s target first saturday celebrates black history month w. swing and jazz bands, a screening of the great debaters, discussions, more.

9pm: lace up the converse, get the flannel out of the closet, and don’t wash your hair when the bayside tigers perform two all-grunge sets for ‘my so-called prom‘ at the bell house. $12 adv, $15 dos admission includes a free drink.
