Why should you follow us there? We’ve put together a list of five reasons.

1. Musings. Our Tumblr is team Brokelyn’s hyperactive sensory appendage on the cerebral cortex of our main blog. That means quotes, photos, reblogs and more things you won’t find on Brokelyn proper.

2. Filters. Our tumblr provides links to our top stories, so if you’re more of the skimming type, follow us to be exposed to only the biggest items of brokevestigative journalism. But stay up with our regular site for everything else!

3. Fashion. We will regularly post our thrift finds, crazy sales discovered on the spot, cross-bridge sample sales, street style and other breaking gems that don’t merit a full article. Also, every Wednesday, anticipate gratuitous picture of a Brokelynite – spearheaded by two of the most stylish ladies on team brokelyn and inspired by the forever-meme GPOYW (look it up).

4. Voyeurism. Our Tumblr features behind-the-scenes Brokelyn: more of a lens into who our contributors are and how we live. Here we’ll boast about our day-to-day, satiating our deepest urges to share (like we do on Twitter. But with more pictures).

5. Tell us your cheapest, darkest secrets. Our tumblr has an anonymous ask box. Don’t have the time to write an email or require more than 140 characters in a mere tweet? Ask us on Tumblr! Whatever your heart desires.

You can keep up with it here on the Brokelyn Tumblr!

Follow Caroline: @shadood (who also Tumbls at Broadist.

25 gifts under $25, No. 22: A Brokelyn T shirt!

Sales & Deals

Shopping

25 under $25 2011

Brokelyn t-shirts

Christmas

fashion

gifts

hanukah

order by 2 p.m. today, and your Brokelyn t-shirt will be on its way to a stylish loved one by Christmas Day.* Not only that, we're offering 20 percent off, today only.

If you’ve been ogling our famous Brokelyn logo t-shirts but haven’t made your move, here’s a little extra motivation: order by 2 p.m. EST today, (Wednesday, Dec. 21) and your Brokelyn t-shirt will be on its way to a stylish loved one by Christmas Day.* Plus you get 20 percent off, today only, so shirts are only $16 (normally $20.) Originally created as a way to help recession-addled fashion retailers, this year’s slate of Vogue-sponsored shoptastic events spreads to Brooklyn neighborhoods like Mill Basin, Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst in addition to more expected nabes like Williamsburg and Greenpoint. You may not see the likes of Michael Kors out here (he’ll be at Bloomingdale’s), but chances are there are some stylish goings on near you: The FNO web site very conveniently lists events by neighborhood (we like the ones with booze and freebies). Here are a few of the Brooklyn shopping spots we’ll be checking out on Friday night:

Bird is having a benefit party for City Harvest at its three Brooklyn stores, featuring raffle prizes from Frankie’s Spuntino, The Farm on Adderly, Blue Ribbon, Brooklyn social, and other places we’d love to win a raffle ticket to — plus 15 percent off all merch, which includes labels like Alexander Wang, Martin Margiela and A.P.C. Watch the wine if you want to emerge with your credit score intact. Stores in Park Slope, Cobble Hill and Williamsburg. Click here for addresses.

Re/Dress NYC, an ample gal’s vintage and modern resale shop, is throwing a party/protest: Fill out a postcard or video blog to sponsor the campaign that’s highlighting the lack of attention paid to size 14s. Everyone who participates gets a shopping incentive and the first 50 guests get a gift bag. 109 Boerum Pl., between Pacific and Dean Sts., Boerum Hill.

Hayden-Harnett is having a live broadcast with Newtown Radio while you have drinks with the designers and a chance to win $250 gift certificate, scarf or Ibiza tote. 211 Franklin St. at Freeman St., Greenpoint.

Dalaga will have champagne, free totes and Brooklyn designers on-hand. Wednesday night, May 12, in Williamsburg, the event-based networking group is bringing together three big names from NY fashion to talk about starting out, and making it, in the fashion industry.

The panelists, all self-starters themselves, will be Bob Bland, founder of Brooklyn Royalty; Toni Hacker, owner of Hayden-Harnett; and Elaine La Personerie, founder of Wink PR. They’ll also be on-hand for some Q&A and a cocktail hour. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards and profiles of their work. The 6:45 event’s being held at Kingdom, Bob Bland’s just-opened bar/boutique gallery at 170 N. 4th St., between Bedford and Driggs. There are so many this season, from cropped, Michael-Jackson-meets-Marc-by-Marc-Jacobs military styles to Banana Republic-ish trenches whose quality is so far beyond their $49.95 price tags it’d be foolish not to buy two. Seems H&M’s prices have crept up a bit as well, but deservedly so—the tailoring is clever and impeccable. Seriously. Other major themes: Donna Karan-ish wrap tops, Prada-ish patterned skirts and really cool stovepipe pants that must recall some other-ish designer (Alexander Wang-ish?). Anyway, stop by H&M (before it’s all picked over) and let us know if you agree.
