Happy birthday, Junior’s: $0.60 cheesecake today
It’s a party for New York’s most famous cheesecakers, and that includes everyone’s favorite part: great party favors. To celebrate its 60th birthday, Junior’s, the iconic Flatbush Ave. restaurant, is selling $0.60 slices of cheesecake all day today. And to prove that they’re not slowing down in their golden years, the cheesecake makers also are celebrating by unveiling a new flavor to their cheesecake lineup. The finalists, writes the Daily News: “one with marshmallow topping, one with sponge cake crust and one covered in milk chocolate.” The new cake will be announced at 2 p.m. today. So show up then, or come whenever you can for the nearly-free (down from the regular $5.95) slice of the original. Junior’s, 386 Flatbush Ave. Ext. at DeKalb Ave., Fort Greene
