Giveaway for good: A night with CAMBA & the Cyclones

Let's take you out to the ball game

Look for ways to do good in Brooklyn and you’ll feel like you’re at Smorgasburg with five bucks in-hand: So much choice, such meager resources. But what if someone came to you and said “Here, take these food tickets, have a ball. And, oh yeah, you’ll also be helping out 35,000 needy Brooklyn folks”? That’s sort of what we’re offering here: Brokelyn’s teaming up with CAMBA, one of BK’s largest nonprofits, to give away two pairs of Cyclones fun packs (including tickets, a Cyclones cap, hot dog, chips and drink) for a CAMBA benefit/Brooklyn Cyclones game July 28. It’ll be a night to raise funds and awareness for CAMBA’s programs and services around Brooklyn —and this organization’s benevolent tentacles reach all over the place.

The benefit tix are selling for $50 apiece (so your pair’s a $100 value), much of which goes to CAMBA. Once you win, imagine truckloads of organic produce being delivered to CAMBA’s food pantry… or maybe a new garden for one of its supportive housing developments. Help out with that, do the wave, all while watching the antics of Sandy the Seagull? You’ll be feeling pretty darn wholesome for a day or two.

Each pair of tickets also comes with the ballgame bare essentials: a Cyclones cap, hot dog, chips and drink. To enter, email your name to tim[at]brokelyn.com by noon on July 26 with the subject line “Cyclones for Good.” We’ll randomly select two winners, and then you’ll be headed to MCU Park on July 28.

To learn more about CAMBA and all that their good folks do, find them here and here. And if you really want to earn some BK-Karma points, benefit tix are for sale here.
